Salvete amici et amicae!

Welcome to the State of Protest online Journal for Rational Activism!

State of Protest is an online journal dedicated to the dissemination of pertinent rational activist information. The journal is run by skeptics, atheists, and other alleged undesirables, and it contains book reviews, movie reviews, interviews, and atheist and activist articles on a variety of topics. We maintain the idea that information and critical thinking are key elements in making progress against the status quo of a religiously controlled and threatened society and world.

State of Protest is dedicated to rational activism. What is rational activism? It’s the rejection of dogma, of ancient scriptural edict, of close-mindedness. It’s being reasonably skeptical about everything in life. It’s taking action to help others do the same.

Currently, State of Protest (”StOP”) is a group of rational-minded people who protest the status quo of the social and political taboo against questioning and challenging religion and other myopic influences on society and the government. StOP is working on an online journal (eventually to be published as a magazine), a book (or two), a podcast, and other activities that might help this twisted world become a bit more bearable.

You are currently viewing the online journal, where our posts range from insightful critical analysis to book reviews.

Note that our real names are protected for our own defense. We are not afraid of challenging religion, but we are certainly wary of the length at which religious zealots will go to interrupt and sometimes end the lives of people with whom they disagree. Let our authorship be evidence of our qualifications.

Rational? I’ve never been called rational before. I will take that as a compliment.
